ABOUT
ABOUT US
RAW TIME is an independent editorial project created to explore contemporary watchmaking from a critical, honest, and personal perspective.
We write about watches as they are actually experienced — not as they are marketed. Without scripted narratives, unnecessary reverence, or recycled opinions. RAW TIME exists for those who love horology but still question prices, trends, and the idea of luxury itself.
Our approach is informed but accessible. Critical, yet fair. Professional, yet never pretentious. We take watches seriously, but we don’t take ourselves too seriously.
RAW TIME is not driven by hype, speculation, or commercial agendas. It is driven by curiosity, judgement, and the belief that thoughtful conversation is still possible in modern watch culture.

Mauricio Venegas
Founder · Editor-in-Chief
My passion for watches began at fifteen, when I came across a magazine article featuring timepieces far beyond anything I could afford — including, for the first time, the name Vacheron Constantin. It was a world that felt distant from Rolex and mainstream luxury, and it left a lasting impression.
In 2006, that curiosity turned into practice through a watch trading business. Since then, I’ve collected, studied, compared, and lived with watches across brands, eras, and price ranges — learning not only about calibres and history, but about value, perception, and desire.
I write from the perspective of the informed consumer: someone who loves watchmaking, respects its heritage, but refuses to stop asking uncomfortable questions. RAW TIME is my space to reflect, analyse, and enjoy horology without noise.
